Obituary for David Allan Florea

David Allan Florea
David Allan Florea, 70, passed peacefully while sleeping in his home in Woodland, WA on June 19th, 2017. He fought prostate cancer for several years.
He was born December 21st, 1946 to Gladys and Cecil Florea in Nyssa, OR, but grew up along the Oregon coast, nearly a generation behind the rest of his siblings. He joined the USAF and worked on breaking code while stationed in Okinawa. He then returned to Oregon where he worked in state and local law enforcement and eventually studied law at the University of Oregon. He worked as an IT specialist in the financial industry for the last several decades in and around Portland.
He was an avid hunter, loved humorous t-shirts, typically worn in combination with a cowboy hat and an excess of keys on his belt. He had a flair for making pancakes with strange ingredients, but was generally unenthusiastic about vegetables. He experienced life with a giddy enthusiasm with his wife, Effie Rose Florea, skydiving and taking hot air balloon rides into his 60’s. He loved family, mandating a family photo at every gathering. He was exceedingly kind and gentle, and left a lasting impression on many he encountered. He will be sorely missed. He is survived by his wife, his sister Donna, his three children, Michael, Kristina, and Jonathon, their families, and his five grandchildren
David requested that people deliver acts of kindness in his memory..
